What's included in a house cleaning?

Exactly what a standard clean covers, room by room — what's usually extra, and how it differs from a deep clean.

A standard house cleaning covers the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting and high-touch surfaces throughout the home. That means counters, stovetop, sink and appliance exteriors; toilets, showers, tubs, sinks and mirrors; all floors vacuumed and mopped; dusted surfaces and furniture; wiped switches and handles; emptied trash; and general tidying. Detail work — baseboards, inside the oven, grout — is part of a deep clean instead.

Room-by-room: what a standard clean covers

Kitchen

  • Counters, backsplash and sink cleaned
  • Stovetop and appliance exteriors wiped (microwave inside on request)
  • Cabinet fronts spot-cleaned; table and chairs wiped
  • Floor swept and mopped; trash emptied

Bathrooms

  • Toilet cleaned inside and out
  • Shower, tub, glass and tile wiped down
  • Sink, vanity, mirror and fixtures cleaned
  • Floor mopped; trash emptied

Bedrooms & living areas

  • Surfaces and furniture dusted
  • High-touch spots — switches, handles, remotes — wiped
  • Floors vacuumed and mopped; beds made on request
  • General tidying and straightening

What's usually extra (or a deep clean)

These aren't in a standard clean but can be added on request, or come with a deep clean:

  • Inside the oven and refrigerator
  • Interior windows, baseboards and blinds by hand
  • Tile grout scrubbing and built-up mildew
  • Wall washing, cabinet interiors, behind appliances
  • Laundry, dishes, and pet waste (varies by team)

Common questions

What's-included questions

What is included in a standard house cleaning?

Kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting and high-touch surfaces throughout — counters, toilets, showers, vacuum and mop, wiped switches and handles, trash and tidying. Detail work like baseboards and inside the oven is a deep clean.

What is not included in a standard cleaning?

Inside the oven/fridge, interior windows, baseboards and blinds by hand, grout scrubbing and heavy buildup — those belong to a deep clean. Laundry, dishes and pet waste are usually extra too, but most can be added on request.

Do cleaners bring their own supplies?

Yes — teams bring their own products and equipment, including pet- and family-safe options on request. You don't need to stock anything.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No — most clients leave a code or key. Teams are vetted and insured, so you can be home or away.
